R Parthiban is planning a sequel to his critically acclaimed recent release Kathai Thiraikkathai Vasanam Iyakkam. The filmmaker is planning on naming it Upma Company and will register the name with the council on Monday. Actor Vijay Ram who made a mark with his comic timing in KTVI will be a part of this project along with veteran Thambi Ramaiah. Parthiban will also act in a ‘pivotal role’ in the film. Speaking to us, he said, “I haven’t started work on the script and other details yet. I have consciously stayed away from retaining the original KTVI team as I didn’t want people to think that this would be the continuation to that story. The whole point of this film is that it doesn’t necessarily have a story.”
The actor made waves earlier today by going on a raid at a store in Burma Bazaar selling pirated prints of KTVI. He said he intends to keep a watch until the satellite rights of his film are sold.
