A photoshopped image of actor Dhanush wearing a shirt in support of animal welfare organisation PETA has enraged Jallikattu supporters in Tamil Nadu. PETA has been vocal in its support for a ban on the sport.
Dhanush was forced to issue a clarification via his social media account.

The photoshopped image used a photo of Dhanush from the audio launch of Dharmayogi. It was initially mistaken for a real image as Dhanush’s sister-in-law recently became a member of the Animal Welfare Board of India, another organisation responsible for getting the sport banned in Tamil Nadu.
Meanwhile, actress Trisha Krishnan, a longtime PETA advocate, has also been slammed on Twitter for her association with them. The actress has been the target of several tweets demanding that she support Jallikattu, saying it was mandatory.
