‘Bhoomi’ Director Omung Kumar Dismisses Plagiarism Charges On Sanjay Dutt’s Poster

Director Omung Kumar has brushed away the accusations that the poster for his upcoming film Bhoomi was plagiarised from that of Liam Neeson starrer The Grey.

The poster is a close-up shot of a bruised and bloodied Sanjay Dutt, who plays the lead in the film. At first glance, the poster appears to be similar to that of Neeson’s film.

Kumar told Mid-Day that the poster for Bhoomi used an image from the film’s climax, and was not a standalone image that was meant to be used for promotional material.

Moreover, Kumar revealed that he did not care about the criticism about his poster. “Why single my film out? Anyone who understands art will tell you about the detailing in our poster. I don’t give a damn about what people say. If need be, I will put blinders on. We’ve put sweat and blood into giving Baba (Sanjay Dutt) a film worthy of his name. Trolls achieve nothing in their lives and derive pleasure by pulling people down,” he told Mid-Day.

Earlier this week, filmmaker Anubhav Sinha came out in support of Kumar’s poster and called out the trolls who had attacked the poster on social media.
