Prashant Narayanan will star as the main antagonist in Narendra Modi biopic featuring Vivek Oberoi in the titular role. The actor, best known for his role as the villain in Murder 2, is a fictional business tycoon Aditya Reddy in the film.
Talking about the role, he was quoted by India Today as saying, “I am grateful to Mukesh Chabbra and Sandip Ssingh for giving me this role and believing in me. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, I am excited. This set is like a big family to me.”
It was casting director Mukesh Chhabra’s decision to offer Prashant Narayan the role. “Mukesh Chhabra thought Prashant suits the role. When he came on board I remember he told me ‘leave Aditya Reddy (his character) on me’. We trusted him and he has started shooting. We are extremely happy with his work so far,” says producer Sandip Ssingh.
The film, directed by Omung Kumar, traces the life of Modi from his early years to becoming the Gujarat Chief Minister, and his victory in the 2014 general elections.
Zareena Wahab plays Narendra Modis’s mother Heeraben Modi, and Barkha Bisht essays the role of his wife Jashodaben. It was earlier announced that Manoj Joshi plays the BJP general secretary Amit Shah.

According to reports, the biopic has been in production for three years. “The team acquired the necessary permission to go forth with the film only recently. Vivek has been working on his distinct looks and will be part of extensive workshops. A big chunk of the film will be shot in Gujarat, apart from other states,” a source close to the film said.
Sandip Ssingh and Omung Kumar have previously collaborated for Sarabjit, another biopic based on the life of Sarabjit Singh, who was detained in a prison in Pakistan after being convicted of terrorism.
