Actor Prashanth’s comeback film, the action-comedy Saahasam, will release on February 5, along with Vetri Maaran’s Visaranai. Directed by Arun Raj Varma, the film began production in 2013, but ran into several delays. Thenandal Films eventually purchased the rights of Saahasam. The film’s trailer will release on January 14, during the Pongal festival.
Saahasam is the official Tamil remake of the Telugu film Julayi. The film has been shot in China, Japan, Malaysia and Chennai. Bollywood actress Nargis Fakri features in one song of the film.
Saahasam stars Prashanth and Australian actress Amanda, with the latter making her debut in Tamil cinema. The film also features Nasser, Tulasi, Sonu Sood, Thambi Ramaiah, Devadarshini, and John Vijay in supporting roles. S Thaman has composed the music for the film.
