Rahul Raj Singh, the ex-boyfriend of television actress Pratyusha Banerjee who committed suicide recently, has been booked for molestation, by the Amboli Police. The incident occurred on Tuesday night, when Singh and a female friend got into a heated argument with a producer and his friend at a suburban pub.
Singh and his friend were said to be on their way out when the producer and his friend walked in, and they had a scuffle. The producer’s friend later alleged that Singh had assaulted and molested her, subsequently filing a complaint with the police.

In the meantime, the woman who was accompanying Singh also lodged a police complaint against the other duo for attacking her. A spokesperson for the Mumbai Police confirmed teh incident to the Hindustan Times. The FIRs in both cases have been registered under sections 354 (sexual harassment), 324 (voluntarily causing hurt using dangerous weapon), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.
This isn’t the first run-in with the police for Singh. Pratyusha Banerjee, who starred in TV series Ballika Vadhu, was found hanging from the ceiling fan at her Goregaon residence in Mumbai, in April this year. Singh was booked by the police for abetting her suicide. He has been accused by Pratyusha’s parents of physically assaulting her and misusing money in her bank account as well as forbidding her from contacting her family.
