Raashi Khanna to Replace Aditi Rao Hydari in Tughlaq Darbar

Actor Raashi Khanna will be playing the lead role opposite Vijay Sethupathi in the upcoming film Tughlaq Durbar, replacing Aditi Rao Hydari, Seven Screen Studio which will be bankrolling the film, announced on Tuesday.

According to The Times of India report, Hydari had to drop out of the project over date issues.

In an interview with the daily, the film director Delhi Prasad Deenadayalan said that Khanna will be playing the role of a Marwari girl-next-door. He also confirmed that nearly 50% of the shooting is complete and that Sethupathi and Khanna have begun shooting for their portions.

Taking to Twitter, Seven Screen Studio shared a photo of Khanna and wrote, “Happy to announce that #RaashiKhanna is playing as female lead in @VijaySethuOffl’s #TughlaqDurbar Team #TughlaqDurbar welcomes you aboard @RaashiKhanna”

Khanna, too, confirmed the news by retweeting Seven Screen Studio’s post and wrote, “Thankyou @7screenstudio Very happy to be on board for #TughlaqDurbar and to be working with one of the finest actors we have @VijaySethuOffl Sir again!”

This will the second collaboration for the lead pair after Sangathamizhan. She was last seen in the Telugu film World Famous Lover alongside Vijay Devarakonda. Khanna will also be starring in Sundar C’s Aranmanai 3, the third installment of the horror film  Aranmanai. She will also be featuring in Hari’s Aruvaa.

Apart from Sethupathi and Khanna, Tughlaq Darbar cast also includes Manjima Mohan, R Parthiban, KarunakaranBagavathi Perumal, and Raj in important roles.

The film will feature Vijay Sethupathi playing Raja, a politician, while Manjima will be playing his sister. Parthiban will essay the character of the antagonist. Govind Vasantha will be composing the music and Manoj Paramahamsa will handle the camera. Kumar Gangappan is in-charge of art and R Govindaraj is on the edit. The dialogues have been penned by director Balaji Tharaneetharan.
