Radhika Sarathkumar Demands Apology; STR To Contest As Vice President

Several actors pledged support to Sarathkumar and his team this Monday at a press conference, with Radhika Sarathkumar stating that she would demand an apology from the Pandavar Ani, and Silambarsan announcing that he would run for the Vice President’s post on Sarathkumar’s team for the Nadigar Sangam elections. The elections are scheduled to take place on October 18 and nominations for the same will be filed on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of October. The two camps, headed by Sarathkumar and Vishal have been vigorously campaigning among actors and theatre artistes.

Radhika Sarathkumar stated that regardless of the outcome, she would demand an apology from the Paandavar Ani headed by Vishal, for making serious allegations about scams and financial irregularities in the Sangam under Sarthkumar’s leadership. Stating that such allegations were baseless, she demanded a retraction. Radhika Sarathkumar also claimed that actor Sivakumar had told her that the Pandavar Ani did not stand a chance of winning the elections. Sivakumar’s son actor Karthi is part of the team.

Actor Silambarsan added, “I have been part of this association since my teenage, and it hurts to see the Sangam divided today. If anything wrong had happened, I would have been the first person to raise my voice against it. But there is no truth in allegations made against the Sangam. I cannot support those who make baseless allegations and that is why I am supporting the team of the current office bearers.”

Incumbent president Sarathkumar confirmed that the names of the candidates contesting on his behalf would be announced within ten days. Silverscreen’s full coverage on the Nadigar Sangam elections can be found here.
