Rajinikanth and Vijay have been invited to the swearing-in ceremony of prime minister-in-waiting Narendra Modi to be held at Rashtrapathi Bhavan on May 26.

Confirming the news, a source from BJP’s Ashoka Road office in New Delhi told us that the cinema industry will also mark its presence in the ceremony besides other political and international leaders and business magnates. While Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan will represent Bollywood, Superstar Rajinikanth and Ilayathalapathi Vijay are the invitees from the Tamil film industry. Modi met both actors during his campaign in the state and speculations have been rife ever since then; but both Rajinikanth and Vijay quickly termed it “a friendly visit”. Also, sources close to the actors maintain that they have been invited only due to “personal equations” with Modi and has nothing to do with the political leanings of either.
However, it still hasn’t been confirmed whether the actors will make it to the ceremony to be held in New Delhi.
