“There is a letter, claimed to be from me, that is going viral on social media. Everyone knows that it is not my announcement,” Rajinikanth wrote in the statement.
However, the actor confirmed that the contents of the letter that spoke about his health and doctor’s advice given to him were true. Rajinikanth also announced that he will issue an announcement soon regarding his decision over his political career.
“I will discuss with the members of my Rajini Makkal Mandram and announce to the people about my political position at the appropriate time,” he wrote.
Recently, a letter rumoured to have been penned by Rajinikanth became viral on social media. The note claimed that the actor was deciding to quit politics due to his kidney condition. According to the letter, doctors have asked him to restrict his movement because of his condition, which worsen due to the added vulnerability of Covid-19.
Despite Rajinikanth announcing his political venture on December 31, 2017, the actor is yet to take the plunge by contesting in elections. The actor did not participate in the 2019 Parliamentary elections and claimed that he was focussing on the 2021 Assembly elections. However, with the polls just a few months away, the actor is yet to take any definitive steps.
Reportedly, Rajinikanth will hold a meeting soon and district secretaries of Rajini Makkal Mandram are in talks to see if the meeting can be held around Diwali.
