Rajinikanth Praises Vetrimaaran’s Visaranai

Actor Rajinikanth, who is currently shooting in Malaysia for Kabali, watched Visaranai at a private screening organised by the film’s Chennai team. Rajinikanth was reportedly mesmerised with the film and tweeted that he had never seen a film like Visaranai. He also said that this Tamil film would find a fitting place in world cinema.

In an interview with The Hindu (Tamil), director Vetrimaaran said, “Rajini sir was so happy after seeing the film. He even came to me and asked, “Yaarunga andha motta, enga pudhicheenga?” (Who is that tonsured guy, where did you find him?).” Rajinikanth was referring to Telugu actor Ajay Ghosh, who plays a police officer in the Andhra Pradesh police station.

Visaranai stars Attakathi Dinesh, Aadukalam Murugadoss and Samuthirakani, and is based on a novel called Lock Up, by Auto Chandran. The first half of the film is set in Andhra Pradesh while the second half is set in Chennai.
