Producer Council President Kalaipuli S Thanu has announced that the ongoing Lingaa issue has been sorted out after actor Rajinikanth came forward to pay a lump sum amount to the distributors to compensate their losses.
Rajinikanth gave the money and the agreement through producer Rockline Venkatesh 10 days ago. Reportedly, the delay in handing over the money to the distributors and theatre owners happened as they were negotiating on splitting the money between themselves.
This decision was announced to the distributors and theatre owners yesterday morning by Kalaipuli S Thanu and the distributors have agreed to drop this issue and withdraw their protest.
Lingaa, directed by KS Ravikumar was declared loss in December. Ever since its release, distributors and theatre owners have been raising voice against Rockline Venkatesh and Rajinikanth to compensate their losses. This money has helped to end the battle that has been going on since December.
