Rajinikanth’s next film will be a gangster movie set in Mumbai, directed by Pa Ranjith. According to reports, Ranjith is currently working on the film’s script.
According to a source close to the project, “The shooting locations have been fixed. Most of the filming will take place in Mumbai. Reports that the project is a sequel to Kabali is not true. This is an entirely new script.”
With reviews of Ranjith’s Kabali focusing on the lack of cohesion in his plot, the filmmaker is reportedly very motivated to make sure that the new film does not have the same issues.
The project is produced by Dhanush through Wunderbar Studios.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is hard at work on 2.0. The film stars Amy Jackson as the female lead, while Akshay Kumar plays the villain.
