Director Raju Murugan recently released a single track from his upcoming movie Gypsy. While he is busy with the release of the film, speculations are on that the national award winning director may soon start his next project starring directors Sasikumar and Samuthirakani together.
According to news reports, director Raju Murugan discussed the script with the two directors and they liked the script. An official announcement on the project is yet to come. Meanwhile, Samuthirakani, who has proved himself both as a director and actor, is making his Tollywood debut in ace director SS Rajamouli’s next flick RRR, starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the lead.
Director Sasikumar who was last seen in Petta, is currently working on Kennedy Club, directed by Suseethiran. Interestingly, this movie also stars Samuthirakani.

Recently, at the Gypsy single track launch, Raju Murugan said, “I referred to music composer Santhosh Narayanan as a ‘Thozhar’ (Comrade). Many have questioned me for it. The word ‘Thozhar’ doesn’t belong to one political group or so. It’s a wonderful word and we can refer it to anyone who fights against any injustice in society and stands for rights.”
The song ‘Very Very Bad’ from Gypsy, which questions the government’s attitude about activists, featured many real-life social activists and politicians, including environmental activists Piyush Manush and Mugilan, political activist Thirumurugan Gandhi, veteran politician Nallakannu, Balabharathi, student activist Valarmathi, and transgender activist Grace Banu. The travel film stars actor Jiiva and debutant actress Natasha Singh in the lead roles, and is produced by S Ambethkumar.
