Rakesh Roshan might launch his niece, Pashmina Roshan, as the female lead in his next film. The actor-turned-producer confirmed the news and said: “She’s still studying acting, and has not finished her course yet. Once it gets over, I will search for a subject. And once I’m convinced, I will go ahead with it. I’m in no hurry.”
Pashmina is the daughter of Rakesh’s brother – music composer Rajesh Roshan. However, the family connection alone will not guarantee Pashmina’s launch. Rakesh plans to make Pashmina work hard for the opportunity.

In an interview with Deccan Chronicle, he said: “She has to learn everything and then I will decide. Let her train herself, because I’ve made it very clear — and have told Hrithik too — that I will launch someone only if they deserve it. When you’re making a movie, everybody’s name is at stake. One should be able to justify it.”
Meanwhile, his latest production Kaabil has been faring well at the box office. “I’m extremely happy with the collection, and despite all the negativity, the film is going strong. We’ve got only 40 per cents of theatre share, and still done so much business. Imagine if I had more screens; the film would’ve done wonders,” Rakesh said.
