Ranbir Kapoor defended his actor father, Rishi Kapoor, on his recent statements about the failure of Jagga Jasoos. Rishi blamed the film’s director Anurag Basu after the film failed to make an impact at the box-office.
At the trailer launch event of Sanjay Dutt’s Bhoomi, Ranbir said that his father was an ’emotional man’ who was just trying to protect him.
“I don’t necessarily agree with what he said. We worked on Jagga Jasoos for three years and we knew what we were doing and how it was being made. Sometimes you succeed, sometimes you fail. I don’t look at it as failure. I look at it as a learning experience. I cannot answer for somebody else, but I don’t necessarily agree with anybody else.”
Kapoor famously said, in the run-up to Jagga Jasoos’ release, that he would not produce a film if this project turned out to be a flop. The detective film garnered positive reviews, but did not fare well at the box-office.
