Ranbir Kapoor admits that nepotism does indeed exist in the Indian film industry. In a story in the Hindustan Times, the actor said that his grandfather worked hard to create opportunities for his children, and he will likewise ensure the same for his own children.
Ever since it began earlier this year, the nepotism debate has refused to die down. The press must have suddenly realised that they hadn’t asked Ranbir Kapoor about it. And so, while Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif were promoting their film Jagga Jasoos, a reporter asked him.

Ranbir said, “It exists everywhere but more so in the film industry. But how I see it, I can only speak of my family. I believe my great grandfather worked really hard to give his children an opportunity in their professional life. I would like to work hard for my children so that they get the right opportunity, platform, the right first film. After that, it’s about your talent. So, yes, honestly, it does exist.”
Jagga Jasoos, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, will release mid July.
