It was announced that Jyothika has signed up for director Bramma’s second film, in February. The acting rehearsals for this film have begun today. The rehearsals will go on for around twenty more days after which regular shooting will commence. Talking to Silverscreen about this yet untitled film, director Bramma said, “We have made a decision to keep the story and other details about the film under wraps a little longer. Soon, the announcements will be made at the right time.” At the announcement of the film, it was said that the film will be women-centric subject.
The film is produced by actor Suriya’s 2D entertainment. There was a buzz that Suriya and Jyothika may act together in the film. During the promotions of his film 24, he said that it was too early to confirm it, but he did not deny it either.

Jyothika, who was on a break after her wedding to Suriya made a comeback to cinema last year with 36 Vayadhinile, directed by Roshan Andrews. She garnered positive reviews for the film and also won the Filmfare award for Best Actress (Critics) for her performance.
Bramma’s debut film was Kuttram Kadithal, which won the National Award for Best Tamil Language Feature film in 2015. The film, which spoke about corporal punishment, was lauded by critics as one of the best Tamil films of 2015.
