Remya Nambeesan has joined Vijay Antony’s Tamizharasan directed by Babu Yogeswaran, the director of the 2005 Jayam Ravi starrer Daas. Remya was last seen playing a cameo in Vijay Sethupathi’s Seethakathi.
The actress reportedly plays the female lead in the new film. Sonu Sood is one of the important antagonists, and the film features Bhumika, Munishkanth, Robo Shankar, Yogi Babu, and director Mohan Raja’s son, Pranav in pivotal roles. Vijay Antony, who is the music director for all his films, has signed up with Ilaiyaraja to compose for Tamizharasan. The actor announced this officially in January.
He revealed the first look poster of the film and said the shoot would began on January 17. The poster featured Vijay Antony holding a pistol, while glaring into the camera. It is set in the backdrop of demolished buildings.

Pitched as a cop thriller, Tamilarasan is produced by S Kousalya Rani under the banner SNS Movies. RD Rajasekar is the cinematographer and Bhuvan Srinivasan is the editor. Stunt choreography is by Anal Arasu.
Vijay Antony was last seen as the straight-forward cop, Inspector Murugavel, in Thimiru Pudichavan directed by debutant Ganeshaa. The film received mixed reviews. Vijay’s performance, the concept and cinematography of the film was praised. The screenplay and fight sequences were not as well received.
On the work front, Remya is awaiting the release of much delayed Malayalam project Aalathoorile Ethiri Vettam. She will also be seen in Kurukshetra, a war film directed by Naganna in Kannada. She has Virus directed by Ashique Abu in Malayalam, and Agni Vs Devi directed by JPR and Shaam in Tamil.
Vijay Antony has Kolaigaran, a crime thriller directed by director Andrew Louis of Leelai fame. The film also stars Arjun Sarja in an important role, reportedly as the antagonist. Agni Siragural by Naveen of Moodar Koodam fame is awaiting release. The film stars Vijay Antony, Arun Vijay and Shalini Pandey in pivotal roles.
