Former actress Richa Gangopadhyay, known for films like Mayakkam Enna and Osthe, has announced that she is engaged. She will soon get married to the US-based Joe Langella, says a report.
The actress took to social media to share the news that she and Joe had met at a business school in the US two years back. In October 2013, Gangopadhyay had announced that she was moving back to the US to pursue her MBA.

Born in Delhi, Richa Gangopadhyay’s family settled in the US when she was a kid. Later she came to Mumbai to pursue a career in film and subsequently graduated from Anupam Kher’s acting school. After having starred in a few commercials, Richa Gangopadhyay made her acting debut in 2010 with the Telugu movie Leader.
After two more Telugu films, Gangopadhyay made her Tamil debut opposite Dhanush in Selvaraghavan’s Mayakkam Enna in 2011. Her performance in the movie was widely appreciated, with the actress even being nominated for a Filmfare Award. However, in 2013, the actress announced her plans to take a break from the movies.
Her last film was Bhai in Telugu opposite Nagarjuna. In Tamil, she was last seen in with STR in the 2011 film Osthe. She also acted in a Bengali movie Bikram Singha, with Prosenjit Chatterjee and Anusmirti Sarkar. The action film was a remake of the 2006 Telugu film Vikramarkudu. Bikram Singha received an A certificate when it released in 2012.
In October last year she announced her retirement from movies. “I’ve accepted the fact that I may still continue getting asked the question: ‘when is your next film?’ even when I’m 90. Truly flattered all, but at some point, you’ll have to accept that the movie thing was just a short term fling and that I have no desire to return.”
