According to industry sources, filmmaker Gunasekhar’s much awaited film Rudhramadevi, which was originally scheduled for release on June 26, is likely to be postponed. While the official reason for the delay is unknown, sources say it’s on account of pending visual effects work.
Starring Anushka Shetty as Rudhramadevi, the film chronicles the story of the reigning queen of the Kakatiya dynasty in the 13th century. Made on a budget of INR 70 crore, the film is set to become India’s first stereoscopic 3D film.
Rudhramadevi also features Rana Daggubati, Allu Arjun, Nitya Menon, and Catherine Tresa in key roles. Ilaiyaraaja has composed the soundtrack and background score, and Thota Tharani is the art director for this upcoming historical film.
