Actress Sai Dhanshika is part of SP Jananathan’s Laabam, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Shruti Haasan. The film is an action entertainer co-produced by Vijay Sethupathi and 7CS Entertainement.
Sources say Sai Dhanshika’s character will be entirely different from her previous films. She is known for her roles in Peraanmai, directed by SP Jananathan, Aravaan, Paradesi, Kabali and more. She said in a press statement, “When Jananathan sir approached me for this film, I said I didn’t have to listen to the story and trusted him completely. I sensed that my character was an important one. Moreover, he pays a lot of attention to the story and I trust that… Right from the time of Peraanmai, Janananthan sir has motivated me. He also shares a lot about the film on sets, and listens to and considers what we have to say.”
She did not divulge details about her character. She said that the film was on the life of farmers, “It speaks of the exploitation they faced right from the British period, and will show their plight today.”
