Saif Ali Khan, the Hindi actor, has revealed that he is no longer a part of the Go Goa Gone film franchise as a producer. According to a PTI report, Khan said that he has sold all the rights of the film and moved on.
“I don’t know about Go Goa Gone 2. I’ve got nothing to do with it any more. I sold all the rights and moved on from that sort of thing,” Khan told PTI.
Along with being a producer of the 2013 film, Khan also starred in it alongside Kunal Kemmu, Vir Das, and Anand Tiwari. The zombie black comedy, directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK (known as Raj & DK), was also backed by Dinesh Vijan and Sunil Lulla of Eros international.
In January 2020, Vijan had officially announced the sequel and said it would release in March 2021. However, due to the ongoing pandemic, the project was stalled. It is yet to be known if the original cast will be returning for the sequel.
Meanwhile, Khan, who last appeared in Bhoot Police, will next be seen in the Hindi remake of the 2019 Tamil film Vikram Vedha. The film will also star Hrithik Roshan.
“I have seen the original Vikram Vedha and I am very excited about shooting with Hrithik for this new film,” Khan told PTI. The shoot for the film is expected to begin in November, the report stated.
Apart from this, Khan also has Adipurush lined up for release. The film, co-starring Prabhas, is set to release in theatres on August 11, 2022, simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. Touted to be an action drama, the big-budget project is a 3D feature film based on the Hindu epic Ramayana.

Speaking about Adipurush, Khan told PTI that the film is “very unique and different.” He added that the director, the writer, and the entire creative team is “highly educated” in the material. “It is impossible to imagine them to put one foot wrong. As far as the correct portrayal of religion, history and mythology goes, they cannot make a mistake,” the actor said.
Last year, Khan faced criticism after he said in an interview with Mumbai Mirror, that Adipurush would attempt to “justify” Raavan’s actions and show his “humane” side. The actor then issued an apology and withdrew his statement.
Khan will also be seen in the upcoming film Bunty Aur Babli 2.
