Salman Khan’s Tubelight Said To Be Based On Hollywood Film

Salman Khan Case

The Salman Khan starrer Tubelight is reportedly based on the Hollywood film, Little Boy. The original film focussed on the relationship between father and son, and drew mostly negative reviews upon release. Reports indicate that Tubelight will focus on the relationship between two brothers. The Hindi language film will follow Salman Khan’s character – an intellectually disabled man, as he goes on a journey to find his missing brother (Sohail Khan). Chinese Actress Zhu Zhu has been cast as the female lead in the project.
Released in 2015, Little Boy is a fantasy-war film directed by Mexican director Alejandro Gómez Monteverde. The film’s title is an allusion to the American bomb ‘Little Boy’ that destroyed Hiroshima (in Japan), as well as a reference to the lead child actor’s character Pepper’s short stature. The film is about an eight-year-old boy who is willing to do whatever it takes to end World War II so he can bring his father home. Starring Jakob Salvati, Emily Watson, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, and Michael Rappaport, the film was unsuccessful at the box office.

The film’s shooting took place mostly in and around Ladakh, with the director revealing the film’s first look on Instagram. The first look of Tubelight features Salman Khan dressed as a soldier, traversing the mountain ranges of Ladakh. According to an Indian Express report, Tubelight is set against the backdrop of 1962 Indo-China War at the Sino-Indian border.

Tubelight is reportedly releasing on Eid next year.
