Brahmothsavam, directed by Srikanth Addala, will be Mahesh Babhu’s debut of sorts in Kollywood. This Tamil-Telugu bilingual will reportedly have three female leads, with Samantha and Pranitha Subash being two of them. The search for the third heroine is on. It was earlier reported that Rakulpreet Singh will be part of this project, but now we learn that she is no longer associated with Brahmothsavam.
Samantha will be starring opposite Mahesh Babu after the 2011 super-hit Dookudu. Samantha, who is fondly called the ‘Golden Girl’ of Tollywood, became the target of Mahesh Babu fans on social media, when she commented that she found a poster of Mahesh’s 1 : Nenokkadine ‘regressive’. From calling her ‘Regressive Papa’ to calling a boycott on her and her then boyfriend Siddharth, Mahesh Babu fans lashed out at the actress.
Mahesh Babu stated that too much was being made out of the issue, and that Samantha was entitled to have her own opinion. There seemed to be no awkwardness between Mahesh and Samantha when they met at the Filmfare Awards later, and at the ‘Memu Saitham’ charity telethon in November. This announcement of them being cast together for Brahmothsavam, is proof that all is well between the two. But Mahesh Babu fans still seem hung up over the issue, at least on Twitter.
