The trailer of the Tamil-Telugu bilingual U-Turn, starring Samantha Akkineni and Aadhi Pinisetty, is out. The mystery-thriller is directed by Pawan Kumar of Lucia fame.
The trailer opens with Samantha standing in the middle of a noisy bar and trying to recall the events of the last five days. She plays a journalist in the film, who is investigating an accident that took place on a flyover in Velachery. The film revolves around those five days. During the course of the investigation, Samantha becomes a murder suspect, despite her trying to convince the cops that she didn’t do anything. Aadhi Pinisetty plays a cop in the film, Rahul Ravindran plays the role of Samantha’s boyfriend. Aadukalam Naren is also a cop in the film who is seen interrogating Samantha. Bhumika Chawla makes a fleeting appearance in the trailer. Reports suggest that she plays a ghost in the film. Malayam actor Narain is also a part of the film.

The film is an official remake of a Kannada film with the same title that released in 2016. The story of the original movie revolved around death of motorists who flouted traffic rules on a particular flyover in Bengaluru. The culprit is finally caught by a rookie journalist and a cop. The film had Shraddha Srinath in the lead role. Roger Narayan, Dilip Raj and Radhika Chetan featured in supporting roles. It was remade in Malayalam as Careful in 2017.
Produced by Srinivasaa Silver Screen in both the languages, the film was mostly shot in Chennai and Hyderabad. It will release on September 13. Incidentally, Samantha’s film with Sivakarthikeyan, Seema Raja will also release on the same day. The actress has had a good run at the box office with films like Rangasthalam and Irumbuthirai. She was last seen in Mahanati where she once again played the role of a journalist.
