Director Samuthirakani’s next movie, Thondan, has been censored with a ‘U’ certificate, and will release on May 5. The movie stars Vikranth and Sunaina in lead roles. The director will also be seen in a pivotal role in the movie.
In an interview with Malaimalar, Samuthirakani stated that the movie is based on a real-life incident. “The movie revolves around the story of a very simple guy and the story would make people relate to it.”

The director-turned-actor also added that the movie could “change the perspectives of people”. “Thondan definitely is for the younger audience as they would take something [sic] from it. Let me not say it is for men, it also caters to women,” he said.
