Sanjay Dutt At The 'Kalank' Trailer Launch

The makers of the popular Kannada franchise KGF have unveiled the character poster of Sanjay Dutt in KGF Chapter 2 on Wednesday, the 61st birthday of the star. Helmed by Prashanth Neel, the big-budget extravaganza is being bankrolled by Vijay Kiragandur for Hombale Films while being jointly presented by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar‘s Excel Entertainment and Anil Thadani’s AA Films in Hindi, and Sai Korrapati’s Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram in Telugu. The rest of the distributors haven’t been revealed as yet.

The poster features a knackered warrior, Sanjay Dutt, who plays the role of ‘Adheera’, leaning on a huge sword. He has a few tattoos on his head but the one comprising Hindi letters that run across his face grabs the most attention.

Sanjay Dutt took to Twitter to reveal his look. He tweeted, “It’s been a pleasure working on this film and I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday gift. Thank you.”

Dutt had earlier made an announcement that he wants to dub for the Kannada version, much to the thrill of fans in Karnataka who are elated with the industry’s growing market. This film marks Dutt’s return to playing antagonist, seven years after Agneepath where he played the iconic drug kingpin Kancha Cheena. Adheera, the character Dutt plays is the brother of Suryavardhan, who illegally built the gold mining empire, more of which we will see in the sequel. He had also said that the character of Adheera is a powerful one. “If you have seen Avengers, you know how powerful Thanos is. Adheera is as powerful as him,” said Dutt in a statement earlier.
