Nearly after a year Dhillukku Dhuddu was released, Santhanam’s next film Server Sundaram is set to hit the screens on September 7.
The film, which is said to be a drama, is directed by debutant Anand Balki. “Santhanam has been labeled as a comedian-turned-hero. After the release of this film, this perception will change as he has transformed into a complete commercial hero in this film,” said Balki.
“Except for the title, the film has no connection with the 1964 film, Server Sundaram, in which Nagesh played the role of a chef. As I am an ardent fan of Nagesh, I chose this title for my first film. Also, it is apt as Santhanam plays an aspiring chef.”

The film was extensively shot in Dubai, Goa and Chennai. Marathi actress Vaibhavi Shandilya is the female lead and Kitty, Mayilsamy and Radha play supporting roles. Popular chef Damodharan has done a cameo.
Santhanam is currently shooting in Armenia for Selvaraghavan’s Mannvan Vanthaanadi. He is also working on Odi Odi Uzhaikanum and Sakka Podu Poduraja. He has stopped taking up comedy roles and is signing films has him in hero roles.
