Actor Santhanam, although awaiting the releases of earlier projects, has now commenced work on an untitled film to be directed by debutant Johnson, winner of Naalaya Iyakkunar’s fourth season.
Calling the film a romantic entertainer, director Johnson told The New Indian Express that the story revolves around a happy-go-lucky girl who falls in love with a local guy, and what happens to the relationship when a third person intervenes.
Produced by Raj Narayanan of Circle Box Entertainment, the film features Bollywood actress Tara Alisha Berry of Mastram fame as the female lead, along with Yatin Karyekar, Telugu actor Sai Kumar, and Rajendran. Gopi Jagadeeswaran is the cinematographer, while Leo John Paul is the editor. Music for the film will be composed by Santosh Narayanan, who had earlier collaborated with the actor for Server Sundaram.
Meanwhile, the teaser of Dhillukku Dhuddu-2 will be out from October 29, which is a sequel to 2016 horror comedy flick of the same name. The film, directed by Rambhala of Lollu Sabha fame, is likely to hit the screens by the end of this year.

The film will feature Shirtha Sivadas from Kerala playing the lead opposite Santhanam, along with ‘Motta’ Rajendran, Urvashi, Bipin of Jil Jung Juck fame, Ramar and Dhanasekar from Kalakapovathu Yaaru and others. Music for the film is composed by Shabir, with cinematography by Deepak Kumar.
Apart from these, Santhanam is also awaiting the releases of Server Sundaram, directed by Anand Balki, Oodi Oodi Uzhaikanum directed by K S Manikandan, and Mannavan Vanthanadi directed by Selvaraghavan, for which the music is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
