Filmmaker Mani Ratnam is all set to direct his next project, and as per a Hindustan Times report, will collaborate with cinematographer Santhosh Sivan for it. The project is expected to take off by September and Mani Ratnam is busy assembling the cast for the movie.
The duo had previously worked together for movies like Thalapathi, Raavanan, Roja, Iruvar and Dil Se.
The report further states that Aditi Rao Hydari could be roped in once again to play the female lead in the yet-to-be titled movie. She was the leading lady in Mani’s last outing, Kaatru Veliyidai, which received a lukewarm response at the box-office.
The pre-production work for the movie has begun, and will be bankrolled by Mani Ratnam himself under the banner, Madras Talkies. AR Rahman will compose music.
Sivan, meanwhile, is completing the shoot of AR Murugadoss’s Spyder, which has actor Mahesh Babu in the lead.
