Cinematographer Santosh Sivan on Friday deleted his tweet that pointed out at the payment irregularities in the industry and hinted that producers are more eager to pay actresses than technicians.

The noted cinematographer, on Thursday, had tweeted a meme that suggested producers favour actresses over technicians when it comes to remunerations. He later deleted the tweet after a few producers, including J Sathish Kumar raised objections.

The Nadigar Sangam too released a statement saying, “Santosh Sivan’s tweet is highly objectionable. We understand the viewpoint of the technicians. Immediate action will be taken regarding the issue.”
Producer SR Prabhu told Silverscreen that a meeting will be organised soon on the issue. “Individually, I don’t want to make any opinion,” he said.
