The shoot of Sathuranga Vettai 2, being directed by Nirmal Kumar of Salim fame, is wrapped up, and post-production is proceeding at a brisk pace. Major portions of this sequel, starring Arvind Swamy and Trisha, have been shot in Malaysia.
Talking to Silverscreen, Nirmal Kumar, says, “This sequel to Sathuranga Vettai will be about hi-tech swindling done using advanced technology. Arvind Swamy plays a con man and Trisha a con girl. They will be seen in multiple looks through the film; in some places, it might appear like they’ve done dual roles. As this film is a different genre for both of them, they were kicked about their characters.”

The team canned action sequences in a month-long schedule in Malaysia. Talking about one particular action scene, Nirmal says, “We have shot a robbery scene at OCBC Bank in Malaysia. Though it was tough getting permission to shoot, we were determined to set the robbery scene, featuring Arvind and Trisha, in a live location, and this bank was the perfect background for it. We waited until we got permission, and this sequence will be a highlight in the film. Nassar, Daniel Balaji and Sriman play supporting roles in this heist-thriller, and we are planning to release it next month.”
Vinoth, who directed Sathuranga Vettai, has written the dialogues for this film. Sathuranga Vettai was about a con artist who outsmarts a group of gangsters before realising his priorities. Though the film, starring Natarajan Subramaniam and Ishara Nair, opened to lukewarm response, word-of-mouth publicity turned it into a hit.
