Sathyaraj Initially Turned Down Jackson Durai: Dharanidharan

At a press meet held yesterday, director Dharanidharan, who is busy helming his upcoming film, Jackson Durai, stated that actor Sathyaraj turned down the offer when he heard that Jackson Durai is a horror film. “Since Sathyaraj does not believe in ghosts, he was hesitant initially. Later, when I narrated the script, he understood his character’s importance and accepted to play the ghost role in the movie.”

Actor Sibiraj, who plays Sathya in the movie, is a police officer. In the movie, Sathya goes to a village called Ayanpuram where he has a supernatural encounter. Sibiraj said, “When Naaigal Jaakirathai became a hit, I decided not to sign any horror movies as they are large in number, and also not to act in those movies in which my father Sathyaraj is a part of. But, Jackson Durai‘s strong script made me take it up despite my decision.”
