Filmmaker Satish Kaushik has been roped in to do an ‘important’ role in Bala’s Tharai Thappattai. Speaking to the Times of India, Satish talked about his tamil film debut,”I have great respect for Bala and have watched all his films. I like the way he portrays the characters in his films… they are very raw. When this opportunity came by , I immediately said yes. I was told that it is a very crucial role. I am presently in Goa. Once I fly back to Mumbai, Bala is going to arrange a meeting and we will discuss my role in depth.”
Satish has long been admirer of Bala’s work as he has previously purchased the remake rights of Sethu and Pithamagan. Satish will begin shooting for his portions at the end of this month and will go on till February next year. The film is based on the age old dance form of Karakaattam and has Sasikumar and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in the lead roles. Ilaiyaraaja composes the music.
