Dharma Prabhu, directed by Muthukumaran is a fantasy comedy drama with Yogi Babu in the lead. According to latest updates, the film has begun the second schedule of shoot in Pollachi.
Times of India reports that the 20 day long schedule commenced on Monday, and the current shoot in Pollachi is said to be for some hilarious scenes.
The film also stars Ramesh Thilak, who will play Chitraguptan. The role was initially planned for Karunakaran. Cinematography is by Mahesh Muthuswamy, music is by Justin Prabhakaran. It is produced by Sri Vaari Film. Meghna Naidu will be seen appearing for a special song alongside Yogi Babu in the film.
Earlier, in a conversation with Silverscreen, Yogi Babu said that the film was a challenging one as it dealt with Hindu mythology. “There’s also a lot of comedy involved so we are hoping to really capture the audience. Karunakaran and I have really great roles in the film.”
Interestingly, this is probably Yogi Babu’s second feature film that features him in a lead role. Apart from Gurkha, his other films have all had him playing secondary characters.
“Yes, it is a huge responsibility. But I think I am really up for the challenge. I am at that time in life where I would really like to branch out. So, there’s that. I want to use this opportunity to supplement my career as a comedian while also experimenting with unusual roles,” he said.
On the work front, Yogi Babu has Airaa, Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven, Shaitan Ka Bachcha, 100% Kadhal, Kuppathu Raja, Aalukku Paathi 50/50, Sathuranga Vettai 2, Adangathey, Nindru Kolvaan, and Maanik. He will also be seen playing the lead in Gurkha directed by Sam Anton.
