Security and crowd-control measures have been increased for actor Rajinikanth in Malaysia. Rajinikanth is currently shooting for Kabali in the country, home to the second-largest Tamil diaspora in the world. Rajinikanth has been the center of attention for fans and media ever since he landed in Malaysia. Every day, there have been pictures and videos on social media, depicting Rajinikanth at the shooting spot for Kabali, often posing for photographs with fans.
Due to the invasive nature of the ever-burgeoning footage, the Kabali team has requested fans to not share the photos on social media, saying that it would kill the suspense in the film. Kalaiyarasan, who plays an important role in the film, tweeted,
Kind request for everyone especially our beloved Malasiyan Thalaivar fans to pls stop sharing Thalaivar pics and videos #stopKabalipiracy

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth has instructed his bodyguards to not push away his fans, and has patiently greeted those who came to meet him. Local politicians and influential people in Malaysia have expressed shock at the reception Rajini has been getting.
