Seema Raja teaser retains the vibe of a thiruvizha. The background score is appropriately festive as Sivakarthikeyan’s Seemaraja is given a hero’s introduction. He is the 33rd vaarisu. A man with a storied history. What are the stories then? We will know soon.
The main characters all make an appearance. Samantha Akkineni appears briefly to ask Seema Raja where he is from.
Simran, the main antagonist in the movie, gets to give the man some dietary advice.
Soori plays an assistant of sorts, in a safari suit. Curiously enough, Napoleon seems to be missing from action. There’s no sign of Keerthy Suresh as well. The actor, his Remo co-star, was reported to have a cameo.
But Sivakarthikeyan is the centre of attention. He twirls his moustache. He beats up the bad guys. He rides on horse-drawn carriages. All the tropes of a commercial entertainer are in place. Every frame is designed to highlight his larger than life avatar. Despite the rural set-up, there’s also a shot of him walking away from a helicopter. And then engaging in farming, which seems to be the current trend.

An interesting visual is that of a group of people assembled in an ornate hall. A golden throne awaits. And the people are ready bow down. Will Seemaraja take the throne? Is he the king as his name suggests? These will be answered when the movie releases this Vinayaka Chaturthi. A festival date that Sivakarthikeyan and 24 AM Studios stick to religiously. No pun intended.
The teaser sets the stage for a rural entertainer, and will see Sivakarthikeyan go back to his Varuthapadatha Vaalibar Sangam roots.
The crisply edited teaser is packaged for social media approval. As Soori points out, the expectation is ‘It’s trending in India’.
