Selvaraghavan Not Doing Premam Remake

Director Selvaraghavan has clarified that he has no plans to work on a Tamil remake of the Malayalam film Premam. Selvaraghavan posted a series of tweets paying tribute to Premam’s director Alphonse Puthiran, and lead actor Nivin Pauly. He said no one could do justice to the film, except that duo.

It seems unlikely, based on his tweets, that he would make a Tamil remake with Vijay Sethupathi reprising Nivin Pauly’s role, as earlier reports had suggested. After Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, Dhanush’s Wunderbar Studios had announced that actor Vijay Sethupathi had been signed again for a second film. Selvaraghavan is likely to direct Vijay Sethupathi in this project. Vijay Sethupathi had earlier acted as a supporting artist in Selvaraghavan’s Pudhupettai, starring Dhanush, Sneha and Sonia Aggarwal.

Earlier, Selvaraghavan had been shooting for Kaan with STR, Taapsee and Catherine Tresa, but the film was stalled due to financial difficulties.
