Music director Ehsaan Noorani, co-composer and close friend of singer Shankar Mahadevan, dismissed the rumours about the latter suffering from two back-to-back heart attacks. Ehsaan said that the singer had underwent angioplasty and other medical procedure to prevent heart attack.
Confirming the same, Shankar Mahadevan’s publicist stated that the singer will soon be back to Mumbai. He is said to have cancelled his concerts.

According to a TOI report, Shankar was scheduled to perform at a charity event in Mumbai later this week, but has now been replaced by Sonu Nigam. Recently, Shankar Mahadevan, who has sung and composed a number of popular songs in languages including Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam, stepped into acting with the Marathi film Katyar Kaljat Ghusali in which he essays the role of Pandit Bhanushankar Shastri.
