The second schedule of director Deekay’s Kavalai Vendam has begun in Kotagiri after a gap of four months. The team starting shooting for the film in and near Ooty in January. But they put the shoot on hold due to the elections – and also to accommodate the dates of all the actors in the film. The film was also held up initially as actors Keerthy Suresh and Nikki Galrani of the original cast opted out of it citing date issues. Kavalai Vendam stars Jiiva, Kajal Aggarwal, Bobby Simha, Sunainaa and Sruthi Ramakrishna.

Deekay’s previous venture Yaamirukka Bayamey (2014), a horror comedy impressed the audiences. This light-hearted comedy will see Jiiva playing the role of a chef. Jiiva is also working on Sangili Bungili Kadhava Thorae directed by Ike Radha and is awaiting the release of Thirunaal, co-starring Nayanthara.
Producer Elred Kumar of R S Infotainment is producing Kavalai Vendam. The technical crew includes cinematographer Mukesh, editor Ruben, and music director S N Prasad.
