The Bhumi Pednekar-Ayushman Khuranna starrer Shubh Mangal Saavdhan has been cleared for release with a U/A certificate.
DNA reports that the CBFC have also made no cuts for the film, surprising filmmakers who expected an ‘A’ certificate, given the theme of the film.

Ayushman was quoted as saying, “I am so glad we got this all-clear from the CBFC. This just shows that the CBFC is progressive and supports the content of our film, which deals with performance-anxiety among men. When the audience sees Shubh Mangal Saavdhan they’ll realise it’s a very important film.”
The story is about erectile dysfunction, and is a remake of the Tamil film, Kalyana Samayal Saadham, directed by R. S Prasanna. Ayushman plays Mudit Sharma, who is engaged to Sugandha, played by Bhumi Pednekar.
