The film is bankrolled under the production banner, V House Production and music is being composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
The government last month granted permission for the shooting of films with strict restrictions and guidelines in place, in lieu of the pandemic.
Simbu was last seen in Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven, a Sundar C film. The actor then joined Maanadu, directed by Venkat Prabhu.
In 2019, Suresh Kamatchi had announced that Simbu had left the project. Simbu had reportedly shed weight and learned martial arts for the film but had to drop out of the film. The producer thanked the Simbu’s  fans for their constant support through the time that the actor was part of the film.
Eventually, the actor and producer ironed out their differences and joined hands again. They had just started work when it had to be halted because of the Covid-19 pandemic and the resultant lockdown.
Earlier on Twitter, the producer had assured fans that work would start as soon as the government gives a green light to resume shooting.
