Following the July 14 Madras High Court verdict on Vaalu, an STR (Simbu) fan allegedly tried to commit suicide due to his disappointment with the news. The Court had stayed the release of the film, which has already seen several delays. Simbu expressed his grief over the news off the fan’s suicide attempt. He tweeted:
Heart breaking to hear a fan tried to commit suicide.I’m literally in tears now and i pls request fans to stay strong .Wont let u guys down

He went on to request his fans to not take such extreme measures:

Further information on the condition of the fan is unknown. In a show of solidarity with his fans, Simbu retweeted a picture with a Baahubali-esque touch to it.
