Even though Silambarasan aka Simbu has sung for many films in the past, he became famous as a singer last month for his well-praised, and bashed, political song ‘Periyar Kuththu’. Following this, he has rendered a folk song for the film Titanic: Kadhalum Kavundhu Pogum, called ‘Gokka Makka’, which released recently.
Music for the film is composed by Nivas K Prasanna of Sethupathi fame, and the song’s lyrics is by Mohan Raja. Pragathi Guruprasad sings along with Simbu. All four of them are popular for different kinds of music. They have collaborated together for the first time.
The lyrical video of the song which released on Tuesday, featured Kalaiarasan and Anandhi in a retro look. The song explains the hero’s feelings and what he goes through after he sees the heroine. The line, “Annatha, annatha, sikkavutta singatha!” justifies the mood.
The second half of the song is the perspective of heroine who opens up about her love for the actor. She asks – “Kannadiya kaadhala dhaan kaata kudadha?” On the whole, it’s a love song from a commercial film.
Directed by Janakiraman, a former associate in Irudhi Suttru, the film Titanic: Kadhalum Kavundhu Pogum is said to be a romantic comedy. It will reportedly follow the journey of three couples.
Anandhi of Kayal fame, Madhu Shalini and Madhumitha play the lovers of Kalaiyarasan, Kaali Venkat and Varma respectively. Kalaiarasan and Kaali Venkat have already worked together in Raja Mandhiri and Darling 2. This movie marks their third project together.
