Simbu, who is currently awaiting the release of Vantha Rajavathan Varuven directed by Sundar C, announced that the film will be hitting screens on February 1. He also requested his fans not to erect banners and cutouts.
In a two minute long video message, the actor requested his fans not to get black tickets at a higher price. He said, “Usually when the big films release, the ticket prices are hiked and are sold at black. I request you not to shell out extra money to watch anyone’s film. Give counter ticket rate and watch our films.”
He also requested his fans not to erect banners and cutouts and to avoid the ‘paal abhishegam‘, and gift their parents instead, and share the photos and videos of it. “People spend money, erect banners and do ‘paal abhishekam’ to my cutouts. I understand that you are showing your love to me. But, this time, please do not indulge in all that. Keep in mind that your parents are your top priority and only then me. Instead, use that money to buy saree for your mother, shirt for your father and chocolates for your siblings.”
“Share the photo or video of your gift to your family. That is enough for me and that will give me happiness. It is not important to show our ‘mass’ and ‘gethu’ through banners and cutouts. I will act well for my fans to make them happy. Likewise, my fans should do this for me this time. I’m here only because of you all,” he further added.

Simbu’s Vantha Rajavathan Varuven is an official remake of Telugu film Attarintiki Daaredhi which starred Pawan Kalyan in the lead role and directed by Trivikram Srinivas.
Said to be a complete family commercial, the Tamil version, VRV as it is called, stars Simbu, Megha Akash and Catherine Tresa in the lead. Prabhu, Ramya Krishnan, Nasser, VTV Ganesh, ‘Motta’ Rajendran, Robo Shankar, Yogi Babu are supporting actors. Music is by Hiphop Tamizha Aadhi and Jeeva. The film is produced by Lyca Production.
The other February 1 Tamil releases are Mammootty’s Pernabu and GV Prakash’s Sarvam Thaala Mayam.
