Actor Sivakarthikeyan’s next movie, Mr. Local will release on May 1st, the production house Studio Green announced today on social media.

The actor, who was last seen in Kanaa in a short but important role, will be starring opposite Nayanthara in the new film. Mr. Local is directed by M. Rajesh with HipHop Aadhi composing the music. Dinesh Krishnan, whose film credits include Soodhu Kavvum, will be the cinematographer and National awardee Vivek Harshan will do the editing.
Sivakarthikeyan is on a roll, with his choice of films and success as a producer. His first production Kanaa was both critically appreciated and had a decent run at the box office. He is also producing a second film, with RJ Rio as the lead.
The first look of Mr. Local released on 2nd February. He is co starring Nayanthara for the second time after Mohan Raja’s Velaikkaran.

Reports say that Mr. Local tells the story of a local man and his rich wife. A sort of callback to Rajinikanth’s superhit Mannan. But we will have to wait till Labour Day to come to a conclusion.
Director Rajesh, who is known for rom-com movies like Siva Manasula Sakthi, Boss Engira Baskaran, is directing Sivakarthikeyan for the first time. Earlier he wrote dialogues for the movie Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam.
It is also reported that the film will clash with actor Ajith’s yet-to-be titled movie with H.Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor — a remake of critically acclaimed Pink.
Nayanthara is currently working on Vijay’s Thalapathy63, directed by Atlee. She also will be seen in Sye Ra Reddy, and Love Action Drama.
