Hollywood production house Sony Pictures has reportedly acquired the rights to director Nelson Dilipkumar’s next, which is likely to star Sivakarthikeyan in the lead.
The spokesperson for the film said, “These are speculations as of now. We haven’t received an official confirmation yet. The film is in pre-production stages and further announcements will be made soon.”
Sony Pictures are the producers of some of the most popular Hollywood films including The Karate Kid, Ghostbusters, Spider-Man, Jumanji, Stuart Little, Men in Black and many more.
Sivakarthikeyan’s role in the film is also yet to be confirmed. He had responded to the director’s tweet for casting call last month, along with Anirudh Ravichander, Arunraja Kamaraj and others, and shared a clip from Remo in which he is seen auditioning with director KS Ravikumar. Following a series of tweets Nelson and Sivakarthikeyan agreed to zero in on the dates soon.

In March, it was speculated that Sivakarthikeyan is also likely to produce this film under his banner SK Productions. He has known Nelson since his school days, and worked as his assistant in Vettai Manan, starring Simbu. This film could not complete and Nelson went on to make his debut with Nayanthara’s Kolamavu Kokila in 2018. In Sivakarthikeyan’s production Kanaa last year, he also played a cameo role as a coach named Nelson Dilipkumar.
Sivakarthikeyan is currently gearing up for the release of Namma Veetu Pillai, the Pandiraj film co-starring Aishwarya Rajesh, Anu Emmanuel and others. The first-look poster was released this month.

The film, set in Theni and Karaikudi, is Padiraj’s next after Kadaikutty Singam. Meera Mitun, Natty, Bharathiraja, Samuthirakani and others star in important roles.
Sivakarthikeyan also has the sci-fi film Hero with director PS Mithran, co-starring Kalyani Priyadarshan. A poster of the film, resembling a comic book page was out recently. The film is pitched as a thriller, with Arjun Sarja playing the antagonist, and releases on December 20.

Sivakarthikeyan’s film with Vignesh Shivan is in pre-production stages and is likely to begin shoot in September or October.
