Smrija, wife of aspiring actor Siddharth Gopinath, allegedly committed suicide on Tuesday at the couple’s residence in Chennai.

She reportedly ended her life by hanging from the ceiling in her room. According to Hindustan Times, the actor and his wife were involved in an argument before the incident took place at their residence in Maduravoyal. A few reports suggest that the actor was asleep when Smrija ended her life.
The couple has been married for seven years. Currently, RDO (Revenue Division Officer) investigations are on. The police will be conducting post mortem also.
Siddharth was seen alongside Aadhi Pinisetty in the Tamil film Yaagavaarayinum Naa Kaakka, directed by Sathya Prabhas Pinisetty.
In July, popular Tamil television actress Priyanka had allegedly committed suicide in her Valasaravakkam residence. Initial reports suggested that domestic dispute forced her to take the extreme step.
