Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha has been roped in to play the female lead in AR Murugadoss’s next film, which will see Vijay playing the hero. The film has been dubbed Vijay62. The actress has previously worked with Murugadoss in Holiday (the Hindi remake of Thupakki) and several other projects. This will be the third Vijay and Murugadoss collaboration, after Thupakki and Katthi.

Sonakshi made her Kollywood entry with the Rajinikanth starer Linga. The movie’s lukewarm response seem to have kept the actress away from the Tamil industry for a while. A report in Deccan Chronicle quotes the 29-year-old actress, “I’m ready to star in Murugadoss sir’s next film as I have already worked with him in a couple of films. I have watched Vijay’s Thuppakki and Kaththi and feel he is a good actor. I won’t let an opportunity to pair opposite him get away.”
Santhosh Sivan who had previously teamed with the duo in Thupakki is also said to be a part of the venture. The award-winning cinematographer also spoke to DC as he said, “Currently, I am shooting for ARM and Mahesh Babu’s bilingual film. Until anything is finalised, I won’t be able to say anything concrete.”
Vijay62 is all set to begin shoot sometime this year, as the actor is busy completing his movie with Atlee for now.
